Hi,
I'm the local representative of Finansforbundet, here in [company]. Finansforbundet is the trade union in the Financial area in Denmark. Here in [company] around 7 out of 10 are members.
I know that there are many different traditions and different kinds of trade unions in the world – and in Denmark as well. However, in Finansforbundet our main objective is to create a platform, which ensures that our members can succeed in their work life.
Competence development is one of the goals, which is key in ensuring that you succeed in your job and in your working life. As a member you have access to our different networks, mentoring possibilities, professional updates and career counselling. Furthermore, we have together with the companies in the area created Finanskompetencepuljen containing an extensive number of different courses – Danish courses for instance if you should be interested.
We also focus on well-being at work. One of my own main responsibilities as the local union representative, is to cooperate with [managers name] in order to support and secure a good cooperation between employees and management and to bring up issues with [manager] on behalf of us the staff, if it's not something that we can handle individually.
Finansforbundet is the union in Denmark, which has the right to negotiate the collective agreement, which is the framework for our working conditions – and we have legal and social counsellors ready to assist if members come in a situation, where that's needed.
Finansforbundet also has a specific focus on colleagues coming to the Danish financial area from abroad. We know that the needs can differ from those of our Danish members. For instance knowledge about the Danish work cultures is often limited, when you first arrive, the tax system can be a tough nut to crack and to establish a social network can be difficult in DK. If these things are challenging, then we believe that it is also difficult to focus and succeed in the working life – and that's where we, the union, can assist you. We have gathered a lot of relevant information and arrange events as well as networks in English to, hopefully, ensure that coming to DK is a smooth and great experience for you. We want to be part of a greeting you welcome to DK and to [company].
